Stop Racism
Hello and welcome to this week's post. Today, we will be talking about some serious issues that happened. Before we start, make sure you are following us on Instagram and Tik Tok.
So, a few weeks ago on school, we had a Mufti Day. Which is just where you can wear casual clothes to school cuz we normally wear school uniforms. And earlier on Wednesday, we had P.E, and when we were sitting on the bleachers, our teacher just came up to us and started talking about the origins of Mufti Day. Turns out it had a really offensive and racist meaning to it. What happened was, when the British Soldiers were stationed in India during their colonization, they had a casual dress day. They came in their dressing gowns and they thought it looked like what the Mufti which was an Islamic Scholar wore. So they named the casual dress day Mufti Day because they thought it was funny. But obviously, it’s really racist and rude to the Muslim Community and we shouldn’t support this.
I’m talking about this because I know that a few months ago there was an uproar across the world about Black Lives Matter and even though no one’s protesting on the streets too much right now, we should still remember that everyone’s culture is unique and you shouldn’t be judgemental and disrespectful about it. And as a small business, I feel it’s important to talk about it, because who knows, one day your voice could be impacting the outcome. So even if you’re not famous, you can still spread the message to treat everyone equally because we are all human and you can potentially make a big impact on everything. -Benny
